East Hill Secondary School is for young people who have Learning Difficulties, some pupils have additional needs. It is for boys and girls aged 11 to 16 years of age. We have places 110 students.

We aim to help our students develop their educational and life skills.

A wide range of subjects are taught which include the National Curriculum. Our emphasis is to provide a broad and balanced curriculum that is relevant to the student's needs.  We aim for students to develop their basic educational skills (reading, writing, language and number) and help them use these in other subjects.  These are then used to help students develop a range of life and social skills.

In years 10 and 11 students are able to study for a variety of external awards and certificates.

We have close working links with other Secondary Schools and Tertiary Colleges. These links are used to help our students gain wider educational and life experiences.

Students in Years 10 and 11 have a wide range of opportunities to take part in Work Experience and courses at FE Colleges.

Other people who come into the school to help include:

Connexions Service - Communication Therapists - Physiotherapists, South Yorkshire Police - Reading Matters Volunteers, and Dental Hygienists.

"East Hill is not just about education, it's also about life skills."
